Guy Albouy



Guy Albouy was born in France. He won 3rd prize at the 1989 Prix Carpeaux ballet competition. In 1990 he received his Diplôme National d’Études Supérieures Chorégraphiques from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Danse de Lyon (France).

He started his career in 1990, at the age of 17, with the Basler Ballet in Switzerland where he was quickly promoted to Soloist Dancer. In 1994 he joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain) directed by Mr.Victor Ullate.

Guy has worked as Principal Dancer with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Germany, the Companhia Nacional de Bailado in Portugal, as well as the Leipziger Ballet and the SemperOper Ballet in Germany.

He was invited to perform as Guest Artist with many international ballet companies: Arlington Ballet, Tulsa Ballet (USA); Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerisches Staatsballett Munich, Theater Krefeld Monchengladbach, Mainfranken Theater Wurzburg and Theater Dortmund (Germany); Ostre Gasvaerk Theater Copenhagen (Denmark); Estonian National Ballet; Slovenian National Ballet; Opera de Nice (France); Queensland Ballet (Australia); Donetsk Ballet (Ukraine); National Ballet Bucharest (Romania) and others…

Guy has participated in numerous Ballet Galas and International Dance Festivals worldwide. He is also a regular guest jury member at dance and ballet competitions.
In addition to dancing most male Principal roles from the classical repertoire, Guy has experienced during his career the styles and repertoires of many choreographers, such as: M. Petipa, Y. Grigorovitsch, A. Bournonville, G. Balanchine, J. Neumeier, J. Cranko, M. Béjart, U. Scholz, H. Spoerli, Y. Vamos, Mats Ek, J. Kylian, N. Christe, C. Bruce, W. Forsythe, H. Van Manen, T. Harm, A. Watkin, D. Dawson, S. Celis,… and others.

In 2008, Guy founded, together with his wife Marina Albouy, the “M&G International Ballet Summer School”, a dance education programme that takes place every year in Dresden, Germany.

In 2013, after a 23-year career, he started teaching classes at the SemperOper Ballet company then joined the Palucca University of Dance Dresden as Ballet Teacher.
In 2014, the director of the Royal Swedish Ballet company, Mr. J. Ohmann, invited Guy to teach and coach the young dancers of the Apprentice programme.

Since 2015, Guy has been teaching, and sharing is knowledge and experience with the students at the Royal Swedish Ballet School.

He joined the Mosa Ballet School as Ballet Teacher in 2022.
