How to make your video?

The room should be well lit and provide sufficient contrast between the dancer and the background. The image should be stable and the student’s body should be visible in its entirety. We recommend that you film :

diagonal bar exercises
mid-face exercises

The video is without introduction or fancy editing, and includes the following elements, performed in leotards and tights for the girls and in tight dancewear for the men:

3 to 5 minutes of barre work, incorporating both sides, danced in flats for boys and on pointe for girls.

3 to 5 minutes of work in the middle including adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro, danced on pointe for the candidates.

For applicants aged 15 and over :

A short classical variation from the standard repertoire, danced on pointe for the candidates.

A short contemporary variation (which may consist of an extract contemporary dance that the applicant has already performed,  excerpts that show the applicant in material of a contemporary class or a work created by the candidate) which illustrates the candidate’s mastery of a range of movements different from that demonstrated in the classical variation, and preferably including floor work.
