In a few words

In many ballet education institutions, the approach to talent development is rapidly changing. Teaching practices and formal procedures are reviewed and updated. Current science-based knowledge from fields such as psychology, pedagogy, and sports medicine are finding their way into the ballet studio. As teachers in this period of transformation, we are faced with the challenge of adapting our teaching practice whilst meeting the requirements of helping our students achieve artistic and technical excellence.

We will have the pleasure to welcome Mrs. Anne Holm-Jensen Peyk, Artistic Director of Royal Danish Ballet School, who will focus on how to merge these demands during daily workshop-based sessions.

The Teacher students will also have a daily session with Clare Guss-West. Former professional dancer, choreographer and dance-health author, she will share strategies for an holistic and inclusive approach to teaching dance. Mindful of the mental wellbeing of students, this approach at the same time supports optimal technical and artistic outcomes for all learners.
