Topics covered
- Discover teaching strategies to promote enhanced physical movement, range of motion, balance, fluidity and improved stamina for older adult dancers.
- Explore evidenced, non-body-specific language and cueing strategies that facilitates physical and mental wellbeing, inclusion and learning for all.
- Structure dance content and plan for progression of learning to promote brain health and increase cognitive reserve at any age - warding off dementia
- Introduce and progress creative improvisation, an essential dance element to challenge cognitive functions such as: reaction time, executive choice and promote proprioception and the use of the periphery field of vision – all components of risk of falling
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where courage and risk taking can be explored through dance.
